Crawfishman is a great race with a rich history dating back to 1983 and has witnessed numerous advancements in the triathlons such as the introduction of clipless pedals….aero bars…and the term “transition” which was previously known as “changing rooms”! The race venue located in Bush, LA is picturesque and perfect for an early season triathlon. The swim takes place in Grande Hills Lake and has been a 1000 meter swim historically, but there is a shorter swim option of 400 meters. The shorter swim is to encourage beginner triathletes just getting into the sport of triathlon and give them an easier introduction to open water swimming. The bike course is an 18 mile out and back along some scenic country roads. The race finishes up with a 4 mile hilly run within the Grande Hill Estates subdivision.
